About Cathy Travis Author of Constitution Translated for Kids
Constitution aficionado and political pro Cathy Travis worked on Capitol Hill for 25 years as a communications director, senior advisor and political consultant, writing speeches, press releases, and advising Members of Congress on various public relations efforts.
While she spent her career working for members of the Democratic Party, Travis herself is a registered Independent and highly values her autonomous status. She retired from Congress in 2007 to pursue a career as an author.
A native of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Travis graduated from Arkansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in public relations and an emphasis in political science.
She finished her first novel in 2008 (a look at civil rights in the South in the late 1960s), and is drafting a second one (a political fantasy-fiction about the 2000 election).
Jimmy Mann was born and raised outside of Tampa,Fla.
He has been designing and making jewelry since 1989 in both new York and Washington,DC.He has drawn on his love of POP culture and fashion to create a line that is both fun and sophisticated.
