I love this............ A unique gift for yourself or a loved one! This listing is for 1 (one) custom bust inspired by photographs supplied by you. It could be of yourself, a loved one, your favourite writer, artist, scientist – whomever you might like to look at day in and out. While the busts do like the photographs, they are also an artistic representation and will have my own aesthetic.
CONSTRUCTION: busts are hand-sculpted from paperclay over a styrofoam and foil armature without the use of molds; each one is truly one-of-a-kind. The sculpting process involves several layers of paper-clay, which must be dried and sanded between each layer. The busts are lightweight and can stand on their own. Their eyes are handmade from glass or acrylic and paperclay; their wigs are hand-made from mohair and/ or viscose. All embellishments (ribbon and/or lace) are affixed with both thread and glue for added security. They are finished with acrylic paints, pencil, archival pens and acrylic varnish.
ACCESSORIES
Simple accessories such veils, ties and earrings can be included for free. More complex accessories such as hats or parasols can be added for an additional cost, depending on the complexity; please contact me for details.
SIZE: The busts are approx. 5” x 5” at their widest point (12.5 cm x 12.5 cm). Larger, more detailed busts are also available; please convo me for prices and special requests.
